Jonathan T. Ginnaty
I consider my works on paper to be an exercise in mark making. They typically start with a concept, but soon after take on new form and meaning. With each layer of sumi ink, oil crayon, chalk pastel or charcoal, I am looking to challenge and push my understanding of composition and design. My investigation of these materials gives me instant gratification and freedom not found in my ceramic process.
