The pottery I make is an expression of form, function and design. It is a fusion of influences, from Swedish minimalism, to past mentors and friends, and a Japanese Zen aesthetic. Making pottery allows me to get lost in the medium and in the moment, to work subconsciously. Leaving the evidence of my hand is an essential element to my work, as I believe handmade pots should look and feel handmade. Making pottery allows me to meditate and to create without the pressure of justification - to explore the medium and simply make what I feel is beautiful.
